FreePoverty

I just tried this interesting website called FreePoverty
It's interesting because it tests your geography and if you answer the questions correct they will donate cups of water. I think it's a fun way to do charity, and you don't actually do anything besides testing yourself and clicking around. Try it out, I personally got embarassed by my very poor geography, but you might do better. - Good luck!

Here's what I donated today:

The view from one of the hills Fourviere. It was really beautiful, you could see the whole city from up there.

Another Mur Peint, it looks pretty real huh? - No, the person on the picture is not me, it's a friend.

FTLY Ratings

I just saw the ratings for Fated To Love You episode 5.

Ratings for the week of Apr 13, 2008:
Fated to Love You- 4.77
They Kiss Again- 2.81
Wish To See You Again- 1.10

source: Chinatimes Showbiz
Credits to Chillyperson @ Asianfanatics

It's pretty good, considering there were some connection problems in a city in Taiwan.
I don't actually know what the ratings mean, but 4+ is rather good. Just look at the other shows. Some of the highest rated dramas ever had ratings of 6-8 I think, but its rather rare so 4.77 is good.

Although I hope they will continue to increase as I am begnning to grow very fond of the drama!

Fated To Love You Episode 5

Okay, so I've been watching Fated To Love You, I like it very much so far. It's sort of like a light-hearted drama, only not? I'm not sure if that makes sense, but it's light-hearted in the comical parts but it really addresses some serious issues.

I thought I'd share episode 5, because it was so good! I started hating the male lead Yi Cun Xi (Ethan Ruan) for treating the female lead Chen Xin Yi (Joe Chen Qiao En) like crap, I seriously felt like slapping him, cause he was such an arse. But.. Luckily he woke up later on, when his grandma started scolding (and I mean really scolding) him. I'm beginning to like Dylan (Baron Chen) very much. - He's the future competition.

But anyways, enough talking. If you haven't seen the episodes 1-4 I recommend you do that, the entire episodes can be found on youtube and here are "exclusive" links to episode 5. They aren't really exclusive anymore as I have already posted them on AF and people are rather good at finding them themselves.

But thanks very much to 0hS0asian@youtube for uploaded so quickly.

Song of the week

I'm back with the next song of the week, this week I've uploaded another one of Raymond's songs, but it's just so good! And the version is rather nice as well.
There is no official version of this song yet, but its been ripped and sounds somewhat whole now.

Song for week 15:

Fated To Love You

Let me introduce a rather new Taiwanese drama:
FATED TO LOVE YOU / 命中注定我愛你 / Ming Zhong Zhu Ding Wo Ai Ni

Starring: Joe Chen Qiao En & Ethan Ruan Jing Tian

# Chen Qiao En as Chen Xin Yi 陳欣怡
# Ethan Ruan as Ji Cun Xi 紀存希
# Baron Chen as Dylan
# Bianca Bai as Anna 安娜

Plot:
A really unfashionable working class girl Chen Xin Yi has the desire to tie down her handsome boyfriend to be with her. Due to certain reasons, her boyfriend gets her to go on a love cruise and she started to ponder on how to lose her virginity and tie down her boyfriend. Xin Yi ended up taking cold medicine which made her drowsy and went into Ji Cun Xi's room. Cun Xi is the sole male heir to his family's company and has been in love with his girlfriend, Anna, for a long time. He planned to propose to Anna on the boat but she didn't turn up on the cruise. An island owner added drugs into Cun Xi's drink and Cun Xi became disorientated and returned to his own room. Xin Yi and Cun Xi end up having a one night stand. Xin Yi later finds out that she's pregnant and Cun Xi's grandmother forces them to get married. Will a couple forced to marry for the sake of their unborn child find love with each other?

Credits to: DramaWiki

Trailer:

So far it looks promising. Within the first three episodes it is now on a top 10 list of the highest rated dramas. The ratings also, as far as I remember, peaked at 6.
It seems like a challenge as this plot involves something that is rarely really mentioned in Taiwanese dramas.

Personally I do enjoy it, TianEn (Ethan & Qiao En) is a fresh new couple and they do seem to have a lot of chemistry. So far I dislike Anna though. IMO, she's really selfish, but I like Dylan. Seems like such a caring guy. Anyways, definitely recommend it, it's fun, sad and serious.

Song of the week

So I thought about starting a "song of the week" on my blog, I just haven't quite had the time or energy to do so yet.. But I've decided to start it now, so from now on, every Saturday (DANISH TIME!)I will upload one song to megaupload, sendspace, mediafire whatever suits me better. It will be a mixture of my music collection which means that it can either be Chinese (Cantonese), Chinese (Mandarin), French, Korean, Danish, English/American or perhaps even Japanese. However, do NOT assume that I will fulfill requests, I will MAYBE do it if I have the song and time. I don't do full albums, people rarely like the ENTIRE album so why bother, besides if you love it that much, go buy it instead.

Why are you doing this?
Because I personally HATE torrents and prefer direct downloads. I love music and want to share it.

Within the near future I will post a Master List of songs that I already have uploaded. That will be the list that I update every time I upload a song, that way it will be much easier to find whatever song you are looking for.

Song for week 14:
Raymond Lam - The Last Breakthrough Theme (also known as Teen Ngai Hap Yee Theme, 天涯俠醫 and Heart's Breath) Personally I would translate it to "Deep Breath" but that's just me.
Link - Megaupload

Personally I LOVE this song, one of my all time favourites! I can totally understand why Raymond won the Astro Awards 2007 for it, it's amazing!

If you are not yet convinced listen to it here:

Pictures from Lyon

I thought I'd share some of the pictures I took from Lyon, France.

Picture one:
A mur peint - a big 3-dimensional painting on a wall, that tries to "fool your eye" you look at it and think that it's real, but in reality it's merely a painting.
This is one of the biggest ones in Lyon called ”Le Mur des Canuts”

This is the Eiffel Tower in Lyon. It's much smaller than the real and famous one in Paris, France. But it actually looks taller, because the tower can be found on top of a hill. It was NOT built by Mr. Eiffel. Today because it's so tall, it's being used as a TV-satellite.

The roman theatre in Lyon, France. Often used for festivals etc.

More will come some time later.

"Ai Lai Guo" Scene from BF

I finally finished cutting the scene from episode 14 where Hebe Tian (Sheng Xue) sings the song that is originally sung by S.H.E named "Ai Lai Guo".

I've cut this particular song several times, but this time it's the video version. It was a request from a person at AF.

It has taken me forever, because of my study trip, homework and problems with the programme. But it's done now. Enjoy.

MIA for a while

So, I've been MIA for about two weeks. I was supposed to have cut a video on Hebe's Ai Lai Guo in BF, but I just haven't had the time. Apparently, being on a study trip for less than a week causes flips from the teachers - "you just missed a whole week of school". So I've been trying to do homework, although I don't feel as if I've done a whole lot. My list is still quite long and I don't have many days left. The thing is, time has been flying and I've been doing hundreds of other things than what I should have been doing.. I know, shame on me. But to be honest, this is Easter Break, how could I possibly only do homework? So as a result of my laziness, I can sit and do homework for the remaining two days. Imagine the enthusiasm in my tone.

So enough babbling, I will try to cut that video ASAP, but it might not be that soon anyway. I've been watching Ying Ye 3 Jia 1, interesting enough to begin with, but the writers or director must have had some bad days when writing the episodes 10-14, they were horribly badly written and not even MingEn (Ming Dao & Qian En)'s impeccable chemistry could save that. I'm serious, it was such a mistake to bring the D.K. character into the story, as if it wasn't complicated enough. - Near death experiences, lost guns, criminal people on the run, triangles simply weren't enough. They had to break the first triangle just to form another, great work really! But besides that, I have to admit that I have now become a MingEn fan.

So, to support my latest favourite couple I've embedded their duet from Ying Ye 3+1. The song is fine, definitely not my favourite, but it's alright. I like the MingEn interaction though. Song name: Zai Ci Xiang Xin (Believe again) by Ming Dao & Qian En

Back from Lyon

I'm back from a wonderful trip to Lyon, France.
I was totally sceptic and stuff, but I was truly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I could mention a lot of things that I wasn't entirely satisfied with, but I can also mention things that exceeded my expectations. Whatever happens, I know I should be looking at the positive sides, which I am doing right now. Therefore, I'm happy to say that it went really well, despite all sorts of ups and downs, I will look back at this trip and know for sure that I enjoyed it! ;)

I was so pleasantly surprised that I might even go again some day. Enough taking about that though, I could go on for hours, but instead I will upload some pictures that I took. Not today, considering the fact that I am supposed to do my homework, and I am still suffering from some kind of fatigue. I suppose it's some kind of jetlag, except it doesn't really make sense, since there's no time difference between France and DK. But it might be a change of environment.

The last episode of Bull Fighting aired today. I was happy and sad at the same time, I really enjoyed watching it. Now I won't have this drama to look forward to. Although I think I'll watch "Fated to Love You" starring Ethan Ruan and Chen Qiao En which will replace BF. But who knows whether it will be just as good as BF. I have to admit though, the ending was slightly disappointing. No kiss, only hugs. But Sheng Xue and Ruo He did get engaged, I guess that sort of makes up for the lost kisses, but still. I will embed the final episode later. Maybe tomorrow, cause it's despite my disappointment, a must see!

S.Hebe.E - Ai Lai Guo - Bull Fighting

I've ripped another version of "Ai Lai Guo". This one is similar to the one I ripped at first, only longer with Ella and Selina singing later on as well. Basically it's the whole song from episode 14. It's a request from someone at AF. Please note that there're dialogues in the background.

Bull Fighting - Fanfiction & Lydia's funeral

I'm planning on writing a fanfiction on my latest fanvideo starring Hebe and Mike. I have actually begun writing it, but it will probably take a while. I'm bringing a note book with me to France, but the chances of me actually using it are pretty slim. However, I'll figure something out. I hope to post it before Easter or at least during Easter break, but we'll see. In the meantime enjoy episode 16 tomorrow, and the lovely picture of MeBe :) The scene is really sweet.

Side track, Lydia Shum Tin-Ha was burried in Cananda Wednesday March 27 at approx. 10 AM (Canadian Time). Lydia was laid to rest beside her parents in Forest Lawn cemetery in Burnaby, a suburb of Vancouver. Despite it being a private funeral, it still attracted a lot of reporters especially from HK. May she rest in peace, she was and will still be a memorable person for people all over the globe.

Lyon in 3 days!!

Okay, so despite some bad news yesterday on our study trip to Lyon on Tuesday, I will have to remain optimistic and have some fun. I look forward to it again, so what if situations didn't turn out as I wanted them to, I've been looking forward to this trip for the past 8 months. Besides the trip was rather pricy, so it better be good!
I'm attaching a picture of a "Mur Peint" which is basically a wall of a building with a two-dimensional painting that is supposed to "fool your eyes". It looks pretty real, huh?

New Bull Fighting FanMV

I made a new fanvid on Bull Fighting, Dou Niu. Yao Bu Yao & 鬥牛。要不要
Summary: Sheng Xue (Hebe) asked for 5 minutes, Ruo He (Mike) refused but eventually agreed, he changed his mind in the last minute and speed off to see Sheng Xue. What if Ruo He never made it? What if he was in an accident before meeting her? What if the two of them never see each other again after that?

Warning: Lots of flashback
Songs from BF OST.
Clips from Bull Fighting, mostly episode 13 & Why Why Love

Made it a while ago, or since episode 13 aired, but I wasn't very confident, it's not very original. However, I'm writing a fanfiction to describe what I wanted to happen, like my version of episode 13, it may just take some time. I'm leaving for Lyon next week and am busy with other things right now.

In case anyone's wondering, yes.. Ruo He (Mike He) dies in my video

Bull Fighting Episode 15 Youtube links

I saw BF yesterday. It was really intense!
Zi Cong (played by Lee Wei) came back from the dead and Qian Na jumped out of a running car! :) Okay, yes.. I am exaggerating. But Zi Cong was in an accident, Qian Na did think that he would die and she also jumped out of the car. Basically I'm just trying to say that BF is really awesome and I would recommend it to everyone. Hebe Tian's acting has improved tremendously since "Reaching For The Stars" where people found her too soft to portray a bodyguard.

Lydia Shum Tin-Ha passed away..

I learned last night that Lydia Shum Tin-Ha had passed away yesterday morning, Feb 19, 2008 in Queen Mary Hospital in Hong Kong. Lydia had been suffering from diabetes, high blood pressure, liver cancer, etc. Earlier on she even received a bile duct operation. She was 62 years old, it says 60 or 61 elsewhere. But people say that she was born in 1945.

Lydia leaves behind her 20-year old daughter, Joyce Cheng Yan-Yee whom she had with Adam Cheng.

Lydia started acting when she was 12-13 years old, and has acted in more than 100 movies in Hong Kong and hosted more than 5,000 episodes of variety shows. She was popular and famous despite being overweight because of her good spirit, comedy talent and enormous energy.

Joyce Cheng Yan-Yee held a press conference today where she thanked everyone for their support, and told everyone not to feel sad about her mother's passing. She mentioned that Lydia had been fighting so hard for her life for so long. Joyce believes that she is now in a better and more peaceful place. Lydia was surrounded by family when she passed away. She said that "I will try my best to learn to be a responsible woman, cause that was what mummy wanted."

According to Channelnewsasia.com, Lydia's funeral will be held in Vancouver, Canada. She will be buried next to her mother, who also passed away just a month ago.

Lydia, may you rest in peace. I believe that you will forever be a many people's hearts. I remember seeing her on television when I was a small kid, it's really unbelievably that she has passed away in such a relatively young age. My sincere condolences to Joyce, the rest of the family and Lydia's friends.

Here's a clip from TVB's 40th Anniversary Awards which was her very last appearance on stage. Her daughter sang a song "Connected Hearts"/"Lian Xin"/ "连心" that was dedicated to her mother.

Bull Fighting - Dou Niu, Yao Bu Yao

Just realised that I hadn't properly introduced the Taiwanese drama Bull Fighting also known as "Dou Niu, Yao Bu Yao" Or 鬥牛。要不要

Starring: - Mainly:
Hebe Tian as Yi Sheng Xue
Mike He as Shen Ruo He
Lee Wei as Jin Zi Cong

Number of episodes: 17/18 - still not sure.
Language: Mandarin
Subtitles: Chinese but TimeLesSub is subbing this drama

Synopsis:
It started as a 3-on-3 basketball competition between two rival schools (Dong Shang and LanTi); an annual event in which the winner would control the 13th Street basketball court for the following year. To everybody's surprise, the 9-year reigning champion Dong Shang lost this year... and it was all because of one girl, Yi Sheng Xue the daughter of 13th streets owner. Now, this game has a new purpose.

Synopsis from drama-wiki

My thoughts: I love it! Hebe & Mike have outstanding chemistry. It's a light-hearted drama yet it addresses some serious issues. It's actually coming to an end, but it's never too late to watch a good drama. Hebe has made tremendous improvements on her acting. It's really nothing oscar-worthy, but give it a try. It's fun, it's sad and it's good!

The OST is fabulous as well, I've already uploaded three songs from the album.
1. How Are You Lately?/Zui Jin Hai Hao Ma?/ 最近還好嗎 by S.H.E
2. Love Has Been Here/ Ai Lai Guo / 愛來過 by S.H.E
3. (Not an actual song from the OST) Love Has Been here / Ai Lai Guo / 愛來過 by Hebe Tian

Here's the one of the trailers: (One of the most romantic scenes in the drama) :D

Hebe Tian - Ai Lai Guo 愛來過

Some people at AF requested a RIP of Hebe's version of "Ai Lai Guo"/ 愛來過. She sang it in today's Bull Fighting episode 14.
It's basically just Hebe singing "Ai Lai Guo" alone without Ella and Selina.
I think Hebe has a great voice, she sounds good even without music in the background. Thumbs up! :)

Save The Last Dance For Me - Korean Drama 2004/5

Check out the Korean drama "Save The Last Dance For Me", I really love it. It seems as if it has a plot full of clichés, but they do throw lots of twists at you to make it much more interesting. I find their acting rather credible and quite enjoyable actually, and the chemistry between the two leads is impeccable!

Plot: Eun-soo (Eugene) is a lovely but unsophisticated woman who runs a small resort inn with her father. Eunsoo is just an ordinary girl, but her life changes when she meets a man (Ji Sung) who's completely lost his memory. She takes him in and cares for him, and even gives him a name: "Baek Changho". Love blossoms, and soon wedding bells can be heard. But on the night of their wedding engagement ceremony, Eunsoo's father passes away. And soon after, Changho disappears too! In the blink of an eye, the two people Eunsoo loves most in the world have left her.

But Changho has his reasons for disappearing: his real name is Kang Hyunwoo, and he's heir to a large conglomerate. In a twist of fate, whilst he has regained his memory prior to meeting Eunsoo, he now cannot remember the time he spent with her and her father. Even more, someone is plotting to kill him. There are outside forces working to keep them apart.

In search of her Changho in this stranger called Hyunwoo, Eunsoo heads into the company Hyunwoo leads. Through a series of events, Hyunwoo finds himself falling in love with her, this woman who is a stranger yet so firmiliar.

Whilst all this is happening, matters are further complicated by Soo Jin, Hyunwoo's soon to be fiance. Having waited a decade for him to finally commit to a relationship with her, Soo Jin is powerless as she watches Hyunwoo fall in love with Eunsoo. And then there is Tae-min, the heir apparent to Hyunwoo's company until Hyunwoo re-emerged after he lost his memory. Behind Tae-min's relationship with Hyunwoo as his best friend and his father's trusted right hand man, hides a a personal vendetta against Hyunwoo's family. The dangerous becomes deadly when he too falls in love with the charming Eunsoo only to realise she has only ever seen him as a friend.

Korean actress & singer Eugene stars as Ji Eun-Soo
Korean actor Ji Sung stars as Kang Hyun-woo
Plus lots of other actors/actresses. If you know Korean, then definitely, good for you! - Or if you, like me, don't know Korean then it's possible to find a version with English subtitles. SilentRegrets.com have subbed the drama.
I couldn't find a trailer, cause the drama was from 2004/5, but here's a picture of the leads. - Remember, don't judge the book by its cover, your loss if you don't watch it.

PS: While you're at it, check out the fabulous OST from Save The Last Dance For Me. I'll upload it some other time, but you can find the songs on my playlist. Songs from 2-6 are from the OST.

The death of Heath Ledger

I forgot to mention the last time I wrote an entry:
As everyone probably has heard already, Heath Ledger was found dead in his apartment on 22 January 2008. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. Especially little Matilda, who has to grow up without her father.
I believe Heath will have a private funeral in his hometown, Perth in Australia. According to The Australian, Kim and Sally Ledger (Heath's parents) thanked Guildford Grammar School for offering the school's chapel for Heath's funeral but politely turned it down. Heath went to this school when he has younger.

Michelle Williams (Dawson's Creek), formerly engaged to Heath and the mother of their daughter had a press release saying that she was heart-broken and that Heath still lives inside their beautiful daughter Matilda.

The cause of death was supposed to be revealed today, but it has been delayed till tomorrow. There have been rumours of an accidental overdose, heart problems and several other theories.

But the main thing is that Heath died, and I believe a lot of people are grieving right now. Even fans from all over the world are mourning over his death. I can't say that I am a fan myself, considering the fact that I have only seen two of his films. (10 things I hate about you & Brokeback Mountain). But I do think that he was a talented actor who improved tremendously over the years. I heard that the sales of his movies have rose a lot over the last couple of weeks, perhaps because people start to realise that these are the only films he will ever make. I even felt an urge to watch 10 things I hate about you again. - Speaking of this movie, watch it if you like. You will laugh, you will cry (taking the situation in consideration), and you will probably enjoy it as well. It's a teen movie yes, but watch it anyway. I found it hilarious when watching it a couple of years back, and I still do. But seeing it years later, now also made me realise the details, like the actors/actresses expressions etc.

Here's the movie poster:

Fahrenheit & S.H.E - Xin Wo

I uploaded a new song from Fahrenheit's newest album, Two-Sided Fahrenheit.
It's also known as the main theme from recently aired Romantic Princess - The Taiwanese Drama featuring Fahrenheit's Wu Chun & Calvin Chen and Angela Zhang.

The Secret, S.H.E MV Zui Jin Hai Hao Ma?

Okay, so I've been busy. - Or more like lazy, the vacation started about two weeks ago, in fact it's almost coming to an end. But anyways, here I am.

I just received a new book today, actually my sister did, but it's a present from her to me. So that's good enough for me. :) I heard it's supposed to be really good, it's a best-seller. It's called The Secret by Rhonda Byrne, and I can not wait to read it! A friend told me that it practically transformed her life, now I don't know if she is exaggerating, but I guess I'll find out myself.

Besides that not much is happening, except that I am completely hooked on Bull Fighting, in pinyin Dou Niu, Yao Bu Yao and 鬥牛。要不要 in Chinese. Acting-wise it might not be anything Oscar worthy, but still it's quite good, and the storyline is funny, sad and sweet. Plus... I learn some Mandarin while watching. Not to mention the MV that was released not so long ago. S.H.E's song Zui Jin Hai Hao Ma? In English, How are you lately? It's amazing! I love it, I must have listened to it millions of times, yet still, love it. Judge for yourself, I have attached the MV and you can find the song on my playlist.

PS: Happy New Year! I wish everybody a prosperous New Year!

Mike He & Hebe Tian Fanvideo

So I've been MIA for about two weeks. I've had a lot to do, basically it has been work, school and shopping for presents. I am glad the vacation is coming up, cause I could really use it right now.

I finished my very first fanvideo today, actually I finished it yesterday, but I uploaded it to youtube today. I'm sort of satisfied with it, but I know it could have been better, if only I had something better than windows' usual crap program (yes, I'm referring to Windows Movie Maker), and some more clips. There have only been 3 episodes of Bull Fighting so far, so the clips are limited as well. I was just going through youtube the other day, trying to find some vids for this drama, when I couldn't find anything. I thought I would wipe up my own, thinking it would take what, an hour? Well it didn't. I think I must have started on Monday.. I have been doing other things since, but it took me much longer than expected still. I like Bull Fighting, it's relatively new actors/actresses, some might say that they are bad, but I like them. I have seen their acting before, and I like to see how they improve from every drama they act in. And no, I have not turned into a Hebe / Mike fan.. I still prefer Mike with Rainie, but I do think Hebe & Mike have chemistry and it was just the first couple on screen, that came into my mind. I have been trying to make a MiSa video for quite a while, but there are just so many episodes and clips that it takes lots of time to find the best scenes, so that video is on hold at the moment.

I have embedded my new fanvid for readers, if any, to see. Kindly leave a comment! (:
