I'm trying to write these short, but I've just had to face the fact that I stink at that.. I'm horrible at writing short recaps, but in my defense the episodes are 1 hour long.. XD
Enough babbling, here's the recap for episode 4:
Quick summary:
- Zhang Ai Li is tricked by TuoYe. She thinks he's about to sleep with her, while he wants to steal back the tape she stole
- Xiao Ah Yi reads a letter from MuCheng and finds disturbing pictures of MuCheng hidden by Ah Cai.
- MuCheng & GuangXi share some moments and it's clear the two are in love.
- The truth hearing gets off on the wrong foot. But MuCheng & GuangXi end up winning.

The episode starts with us seeing Zhang Ai Li with her God brother Ah Nuo in a club. The brother obviously has a thing for her. He tries to get her to "return the favours" he did for her. I.e. kidnapping MuCheng.
Ai Li is her usual self, she shoots back that she asked him to teach GuangXi a lesson and he ended up getting beaten instead. So she is less than thrilled about him. But she does mention something interesting.. She's talking about the missing tape from a surveillance camera at the school - the very one that could frame Ah Cai for attempted rape...! Zhang Ai Li has stolen the tape because she doesn't want to be framed for kidnapping MuCheng.
Then TuoYe comes into the club and charms his way into Zhang Ai Li's mind. (Very easily, I might add). He starts off by provoking Ai Li's God brother and he slips drugs into his pocket. The police is conveniently coming for an inspection. Ah Nuo is caught with drugs in his pocket and they are all asked to go to the police station. Ai Li protests since she is "clean". TuoYe grabs Ai Li's hand and quickly gets her out of there. He even ends up carrying her, which pretty much set Ai Li's heart on fire. Ai Li is ready to take their "relationship" to the next level and already invites TuoYe home. TuoYe of course plays along because his goal is to get into her house.
Meanwhile Xiao Ah Yi is home alone as Ah Cai went out, she's thinking of MuCheng while reading a letter which MuCheng left for her. MuCheng says she doesn't hate her nor does she blame her for misunderstanding her. She says that the word "mother" has no meaning to her, it's only a name. - And that the person who has been doing the things mothers should do, is her, Xiao Ah Yi. A bit later, while putting a plaid back into a cupboard, she finds disturbing pictures of MuCheng taken and hidden by Ah Cai. Xiao Ah Yi is devastated.
GuangXi takes MuCheng back to her temporary home and says that he has to go to Xiao Lin (the lawyer)'s place to prepare for the hearing the next day. MuCheng shares her feelings with GuangXi. She says that even if the result of the hearing will be disappointing, she will just be sad that she dragged so many people into it. At the same time, she's grateful. For the first time in her life she feels that someone is respecting and protecting her. (Aww..) GuangXi smiles and makes her promise to repay him if they win the hearing. MuCheng promises to cook her best dishes for him. GuangXi says that's too little. (I wonder what else he was thinking, something along the lines of a kiss maybe? ;) )
Ai Li and TuoYe have arrived to Ai Li's house and she explicitly instructs the maid not to disturb her. Ai Li is trying hard to seduce TuoYe and to get him into bed. TuoYe plays along until he sees the chance to tie her to her bed and steal her computer instead. Ai Li thought TuoYe was the type to "play rough" XD and she's all in, until she realises his real motives. (Wow, Ai Li is obviously a rather easy girl. She disliked TuoYe when he first arrived at the club and only an hour or so later, she's ready to have sex with him).
Cut to the next morning. GuangXi is wearing a tie. MuCheng comments on the fact that GuangXi looks more mature. GuangXi replies that it's the first time he has been that determined to protect a person. GuangXi once again puts his hand out for MuCheng to take and they leave for the hearing holding hands ;)
Next we see Xiao Ah Yi and Ah Cai. Ah Cai is about to head off to the hearing, and he mentions that he wants to marry her and give her a proper title. - While Xiao Ah Yi has already packed some of her things, she seems reluctant to leave him. Ah Cai thanks her for being by his side supporting him (tsk.. tsk..)
Students are rushing to the hearing. - Everyone are apparently very noisy. Even GuangXi's mom and YiQian's father are present. GuangXi's friends are also present and they're cheering on him. Xu Fang Guo arrives with Ah Cai and he's being cocky. Xu Fang Guo predicts that he will win the hearing within just one hour. GuangXi replies, "That's true. Within one hour I will make Zhou Jin Cai admit his crime".
While the hearing begins, TuoYe is busy trying to get access to Zhang Ai Li's computer in order to get the security tape off her harddisk. He gets help from Bin (his friend from Hua Tian Village). We also find out that the person who acted as a police the night before was in fact a friend of TuoYe's and not actually a cop.
Back to the hearing, GuangXi's first witness is the lady who sold Ah Cai the turtle. She testifies that it was quite clear what Ah Cai was thinking, and that he tried to make moves on MuCheng. GuangXi then states that even a normal person could see that Ah Cai was verbally and also physically assaulting her. The witness' testimony is, however, not as useful as hoped, because Xu Fang Guo uses despicable means to show the people present that the witness is paranoid. He purposely moves his hand closer to the lady and she immediately objects. Thus her argument/testimony becomes coloured by her obvious paranoia.
Next up is Xu Fang Guo's witness. She's the wife of a fisherman whom MuCheng worked for. She accuses MuCheng of seducing her husband. She's basing her accusations on the fact that she saw her husband give MuCheng a fish. - GuangXi then argues that the fish was given to MuCheng for free as a bonus (as we saw in episode 1). GuangXi throws the accusation back at her face, by saying that if she accepted annual bonuses then she must be seducing people as well.
Another pair of witnesses come up. It's a couple who claim to have seen GuangXi and MuCheng having sex at Sheng De Hall. - They are basing it on having seen GuangXi and MuCheng walk out of the hall together, and MuCheng wasn't "dressed properly" (ridiculous because I saw no wrinkles whatsoever on MuCheng's clothes!). Xu Fang Guo is using that testimony to fabricate a story about Ah Cai being worried about MuCheng and thus following her. Furthermore, MuCheng is accused of being willing to trade her body for money with Ah Cai. Ah Cai lies that GuangXi was pissed at Ah Cai because MuCheng had feelings for Ah Cai. (Ridiculous, I know! Has the man taken a good look at himself in the mirror?) GuangXi is being represented as a person with violent behaviour due to his past and the recent health report on Ah Cai after GuangXi beat him up.
GuangXi continues the hearing by showing the court the many locks MuCheng had in the bathroom and her room. It obviously showed how unsafe she found her own home to be. Ah Cai argues that if he was sexually abusing MuCheng every day how come Xiao Ah Yi didn't know? (Xiao Ah Yi decided to not show up at court, even after knowing about her husband/boyfriend's perverted behaviour.) GuangXi looks like he is ready to kill Ah Cai (I would be too! I think I would have slapped him a long time ago). During all of that Xu Fang Guo smiles evilly. (Urgh, wanna slap him too!)
MuCheng tries to clarify the situation. She also says even though Ah Cai raised her since she was little, doesn't mean he has the right to bully her. She said that all this time she has endured his actions, because she wanted to protect Xiao Ah Yi. Xu Fang Guo keep accusing MuCheng and she ends up crying. Xu Fang Guo asks her to provide a person with whom she has no relation and whom she has never used before, to prove her innocence. GuangXi who is beyond pissed claims that he can prove it. He then tells the court how MuCheng has influenced his life... (This gets sad..!)
GuangXi says; He doesn't care what the people think of him now, as long as he can prove MuCheng's innocence, he doesn't care. He knows that he has a certain reputation at school and the old him would never stand where he was now, at a hearing, trying to defend someone. He talks about MuCheng, how she has suffered and endured the harassment for so long and yet maintaining a bright look upon life. MuCheng worked hard and the only thing she got in return was humiliation.
MuCheng's kindness and seriousness in living has liven up GuangXi's sad life. He wants to become a better person because of her. She made him believe that the world is not yet that rotten, he wants to accompany her and not let anyone hurt her again. - Because she has already been hurt for too long. (So true! She lost both her parents at such a young age and grew up having to work hard while being sexually harassed!) While GuangXi tells the touching story we see flashbacks of him and MuCheng. From their scene on the ice-rink, when he saved her etc.
GuangXi hopes that the hearing (that specific day) can give him hope in the world. That it's a fair world, where the law is "a pair of wings that will protect the good people." Otherwise the hearing would be more disgusting than Zhou Jin Cai himself!
YiQian's father isn't happy. GuangXi's mother assures him that once the hearing is over, GuangXi and MuCheng will not longer be related.
Time has come for a verdict. It looks very much like MuCheng and GuangXi will lose. TuoYe is rushing to the hearing with crucial evidence that is to prove MuCheng's innocence. TuoYe only just made it to the hearing with the surveillance disk that could prove MuCheng's innocence. The disk is shown in the court and the truth is finally out ! Despicable Cai realises that evidence is against him and tries to sneak out, but is stopped by TuoYe.
Despicable Cai runs home to tell Xiao Ah Yi that they can't stay there anymore, but she's already gone.. along with Cai's disturbing pictures and money. Let's say the perv isn't happy. In fact he shows his anger by hurling a chair into a mirror and swearing that he won't let them off.
MuCheng is free. She walks out of the court happily and freely, GuangXi calls her and gives her his sweetest smile. (I'm not kidding, that's one of the best smiles he gave MuCheng throughout the entire drama). MuCheng is grateful, her and GuangXi talk. GuangXi's mother calls him and insists on seeing him, while MuCheng then says she'll go home and prepare the dinner she promised him. On her way home she's walking with TuoYe who is letting MuCheng go (she's still unaware that he's in love with her). But he tells her he wants to suspend his studies and go back to Hua Tian Village.
TuoYe and MuCheng take a walk down memorylane and we see how they first met. TuoYe was trying to escape some triads and he runs into a bookstore. MuCheng is also in the store, she sees that he's trying to escape the bad people and decides to help him.
GuangXi meets up with his mom and YiQian's father. While his mother tries to convince YiQian's father that GuangXi isn't serious about MuCheng. (The old parents want their kids to be together). YiQian's father asks him, if he then feels he can't be with YiQian. He replies; No, he can be with her, she just won't be truly happy, because he doesn't love her. Apparently, that's good enough for YiQian's father and he still wants to patch up the kids. GuangXi isn't interested. He then says he's off to see the person who matters to him. But on his way out GuangXi faints and falls to the floor.
While MuCheng is cooking for GuangXi, GuangXi wakes up at the hospital and is confronted with the real reason to why he's experiencing headaches and why he fainted. - GuangXi has a tumour in his brain..
